MTI 24/7 COO: Medical Air Ambulance Aircraft Choice Depends on Patient, Route and Operational Needs, Not One Type
Why It MattersAir ambulance fleets stay mixed across light jets, midsize jets and turboprops, because mission requirements rather than any one airframe determine which aircraft an operator assigns.
Sebastian Demiet, COO of MTI 24/7, says no single aircraft suits every medical air ambulance scenario. Aircraft selection is driven by patient condition, destination distance, medical equipment and personnel requirements, airport availability and the number of relatives who need to accompany the patient.

The aircraft types MTI 24/7 regularly encounters in its customers' air ambulance fleet include the Learjet 35, Learjet 45, Learjet 60 and Bombardier Challenger 604, alongside turboprops such as the Pilatus PC-12. Demiet says these types are not fundamentally better suited to any given scenario.
