January 2026 provides a clear operational baseline for business aviation activity across the Asia-Pacific region. Based on Avi-Go data, the month reflects a post year-end normalization phase, which is consistent with historical seasonal patterns across APAC.

Across East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Oceania, departures and arrivals remain closely balanced. This indicates stable, recurring business aviation usage rather than large scale repositioning or irregular movements.

APAC Business Aviation Activity by Sub-Region

Oceania recorded the highest level of business aviation activity in January 2026, followed by South Asia. Southeast Asia and East Asia operated at similar volumes.

  • Oceania: 11,723 departures and 11,723 arrivals
  • South Asia: 3,289 departures and 3,304 arrivals
  • Southeast Asia: 2,741 departures and 2,738 arrivals
  • East Asia: 2,415 departures and 2,376 arrivals

Oceania’s volumes are driven primarily by Australia and New Zealand, reflecting strong domestic and short haul business jet utilization. South Asia activity is anchored by India, which continues to provide a steady base of corporate and VIP traffic. Southeast Asia and East Asia remain important regional markets despite operating at a smaller scale.

Country Level Business Aviation Drivers

Australia is the largest contributor to business aviation movements across APAC in January 2026, followed by India and China.

Top countries by departures include Australia, India, China, New Zealand, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Top countries by arrivals follow a similar ranking.

Australia’s scale sets the overall APAC volume benchmark. India provides consistent intra regional and outbound utilization. Singapore’s total movement count is lower due to its limited domestic market, but this does not reflect its role within regional business aviation flows.

Singapore Business Aviation Operations in January 2026

Business aviation activity in Singapore during January 2026 was concentrated at Seletar Airport, with a smaller share operating through Changi Airport.

Departures from Singapore:

  • Seletar: 369 departures with an average distance of approximately 1,105 nautical miles
  • Changi: 13 departures with an average distance of approximately 2,742 nautical miles

Arrivals into Singapore:

  • Seletar: 375 arrivals with an average distance of approximately 1,278 nautical miles
  • Changi: 15 arrivals with an average distance of approximately 2,253 nautical miles

Seletar functions as the primary hub for business aviation movements, particularly for regional missions across Southeast Asia, South Asia, and parts of East Asia. Changi supports fewer movements but longer stage lengths, typically associated with specific operator requirements or longer range missions.

Alignment With Singapore Airshow 2026

January’s normalized activity provides a stable reference point for evaluating changes in business aviation traffic as Singapore Airshow 2026 approaches.

Several operational characteristics align closely with airshow driven demand. First, the dominance of Seletar highlights its role as the primary handling and parking location for business aviation during major industry events. Planning for airshow related traffic typically concentrates on Seletar capacity, slot coordination, and ground handling availability.

Second, the average stage lengths observed at Seletar indicate that most Singapore related business aviation traffic is regional in nature. This aligns with typical airshow movements, including OEM teams, suppliers, lessors, MROs, and executive travel originating from within APAC rather than long haul intercontinental sectors.

Third, Singapore’s position as a cross border gateway amplifies its importance during major events. While national movement totals remain moderate compared with large domestic markets such as Australia, Singapore serves as a convergence point for short notice charters, aircraft repositioning, and executive itineraries linked to the airshow.

As activity rebuilds through early Q1, deviations from January’s baseline can be used to identify airshow related lift in arrivals, departures, and regional connectivity, making this data set particularly relevant in the lead up to Singapore Airshow 2026.
