The U.S. Air Force awarded JetZero a $235 million contract to develop and fly a full-scale demonstrator, citing potential military applications including a next-generation tanker aircraft.

The next major milestone for the programme is the planned 2027 flight of the full-scale demonstrator, which is not intended to function as a commercial passenger aircraft. Its testing is expected to generate data on aerodynamic performance, structural behavior and systems integration.
