L2 Aviation and Gotonomi Partner to Deliver Satellite Connectivity for UAV and AAM Operations

L2 Aviation and Gotonomi announced a strategic partnership on August 24, 2026, aimed at providing integrated satellite connectivity solutions for uncrewed aerial vehicle and Advanced Air Mobility operators across North America. The collaboration combines L2 Aviation's avionics integration, engineering, and certification capabilities with Gotonomi's compact satellite communications technology, targeting operations in remote and connectivity-constrained environments where cellular, Wi-Fi, and other terrestrial communications are limited or unavailable.

The planned solutions will incorporate Gotonomi's lightweight UAV communications hardware and access to Viasat's Velaris satellite communications ecosystem, which was developed specifically for UAV and AAM operations. L2 Aviation joined the Viasat Velaris ecosystem through Galaxy 1 Communications in May 2026. Under the partnership, L2 Aviation will provide engineering, integration, installation, and certification support to incorporate Gotonomi technology into customer aircraft platforms, supporting command and control, telemetry, operational information, and mission-critical data links.

Tony Bailey, President and Chief Operating Officer of L2 Aviation, said the partnership brings those disciplines together through a complete, aircraft-level solution addressing a critical industry need for reliable connectivity when aircraft operate beyond terrestrial networks. Matthew Hill, General Manager at Gotonomi, said the combination creates a pathway for operators scaling UAV missions into more demanding environments, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors, and the partnership also targets expansion of Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations. L2 Aviation is headquartered in the Cincinnati, Ohio region with facilities in the Indianapolis, Indiana region, while Gotonomi is based in Cambridge, England.
