Emirates NBD Finances TIM Aerospace MRO Facility at Al Maktoum International Airport
Why It MattersThe financing adds significant independent narrow-body and wide-body MRO capacity to the Middle East, reinforcing Dubai's ambitions as a regional aviation maintenance hub.
Emirates NBD has provided a bilateral capital expenditure term loan to TIM Aerospace to finance construction of a major independent aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) in Dubai South. The purpose-built facility centres on an 18,000 square metre, fully climate-controlled, single-span hangar with a total built-up area of nearly 26,000 square metres, designed to accommodate up to 12 narrow-body aircraft or five wide-body aircraft simultaneously and service a broad range of Boeing and Airbus types. The project also includes roughly 8,000 square metres of workshops, warehouses and office space, along with 12 hangar doors, four overhead cranes and seven in-floor service pits.

Once operational, the facility is expected to rank among the largest independent aircraft maintenance hangars in the Middle East, supporting line maintenance, base maintenance, end-of-lease services, aircraft transitions and AOG support for airlines, lessors and operators across regional and international markets. Ahmed Al Qassim, Group Head of Wholesale Banking at Emirates NBD, said the financing reflects the bank's commitment to enabling strategic infrastructure projects that strengthen the UAE's industrial capabilities and reinforce Dubai's position as a global aviation hub.
Timor Shah Shahab, Chairman of TIM Aerospace, described the agreement as the start of a long-term partnership, noting the facility is being developed in line with directives to grow the aviation maintenance sector in the UAE. The project aligns with Dubai's long-term development plans for Al Maktoum International Airport and is expected to create skilled employment opportunities and strengthen the country's aerospace supply chain.
