ICATT RESPONSE PLUS, the aeromedical division of Abu Dhabi-based Response Plus Holding, has completed nearly 1,000 flying hours across 20 countries and five continents in its first five months of operation, transporting critically ill patients requiring specialised care during long-distance transfers.

The service operates a specially equipped Challenger 605 aircraft configured as a flying intensive care unit, capable of non-stop flights of up to 7,400 km, with medical teams monitoring and treating patients continuously throughout each mission. Among the most complex cases handled was the initiation of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) on a three-day-old infant; the organisation reports it has conducted more than 390 ECMO initiations and transfers overall. It has also transported a one-and-a-half-month-old baby requiring nitric oxide and oscillatory ventilation support.
The company follows a bed-to-bed model, coordinating the full transfer from the originating hospital through ground transport and the flight to the receiving facility, and it also provides medical evacuation services for patients travelling from GCC countries to destinations worldwide. Dr Rohil Raghavan, Chairman of ICATT RESPONSE PLUS, said the work demands more than transportation: "Moving critically ill patients across borders requires far more than just transportation – it demands hospital-level care, clinical expertise, and seamless coordination throughout the journey." Each mission is planned according to the patient's medical needs, destination, aircraft requirements and applicable regulations.
