Signature Aviation's PTI FBO Spans 40 Acres, Handles Up to 60 Daily GA Movements

Signature Aviation operates a fixed-base operation and maintenance, repair and overhaul facility covering approximately 40 acres at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company's presence at the airport traces back to 1971 through predecessor companies, with Signature formally establishing its current operation in 2016 following the acquisition of Landmark Aviation.
On busy days the facility handles approximately 60 general aviation arrivals and departures, ranging from piston-powered aircraft and light business jets carrying six to nine passengers to large, long-range jets capable of carrying 20 or more. Services include Jet A and aviation gasoline fueling, aircraft towing, potable water and lavatory service, hangar services and other ground support, alongside MRO work on piston aircraft and small- to mid-sized turbine-powered business aircraft. The facility also maintains 30 T-hangars and additional hangar capacity near the MRO operation. "We offer the full suite of aviation services," said Blake Wrinkle, General Manager of Signature Aviation at PTI.
Beyond general aviation, Signature provides around-the-clock quality-control services for FedEx's fuel operation at the airport, which includes two 200,000-gallon fuel tanks. This past summer, Signature handled the arrival of Norway's national soccer team for its 2026 FIFA World Cup training camp in Greensboro. Regional traffic drivers include universities, college basketball and football seasons, hockey events, and tournaments such as the Wyndham Championship, with Wrinkle citing the airport's available acreage, runway capacity and long-term development plan as key differentiators.
Through its Signature Serves social impact platform, the company introduces middle- and high-school students to aviation careers and partners with nonprofit and community organisations. Signature operates a worldwide network of more than 200 FBO locations.
