Person trespasses onto Denver International Airport airfield, detained by Denver police
Why It MattersA second perimeter breach at a major hub in five months keeps airfield intrusion in focus, a risk that reaches every operator and FBO sharing an airport's movement area.
Denver International Airport (DIA) officials confirmed that a person trespassed on the north side of the airfield on Saturday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m. Denver police detained the person and transported them to a hospital. Airport radio traffic during the incident described a subject who appeared to have jumped the perimeter fence.

The breach comes five months after 41-year-old Michael Mott jumped an 8-foot fence topped with barbed wire, walked onto a runway and was struck and killed by a departing Frontier plane. Medical examiners ruled his death a suicide.
