Aero-News Network has announced a new long-form webcast and editorial series, MOSAIC Unfiltered: A Grassroots Reality Check, focused on the FAA's MOSAIC initiative. The network describes MOSAIC as one of the most consequential regulatory shifts in modern sport and general aviation, with expected effects on aircraft design, certification pathways, pilot access, training models and long-term industry sustainability. It says current discussion of MOSAIC is fragmented, speculative or driven by marketing narratives, and presents the series as an experience-based examination of the topic.
The series is led by a host identified only by the surname Campbell, a graduate of the National Test Pilot School, an evaluator of light and sport aircraft, and the author of the SportPlane Resource Guide. He is credited with flying more aircraft types than almost anyone in the industry, taking part in ballistic recovery system (BRS) flight test programs including live parachute deployment testing, and covering aviation professionally for some five decades.
Planned topics include what MOSAIC changes in certification and operations; evaluations of aircraft, engines, avionics and related equipment; how design and performance limits affect real aircraft; what manufacturers must navigate to bring products to market; training, safety and pilot qualification; and where the rules help or may unintentionally hinder progress.
