Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport Receives Over $4 Million in Federal Funding for Taxiway F Reconstruction

U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock announced on August 24, 2026, that more than $4 million in federal funding has been approved for Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Savannah, Georgia. The grant, delivered through the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Infrastructure Grant program under the bipartisan infrastructure law, will fund the reconstruction of Taxiway F, intended to improve the taxiway's structural integrity and operational reliability and enhance safety for airline partners and passengers. Lori Lynah, Senior Director of Marketing and Air Service Development at Savannah/HHI Airport, said the airport is grateful for the congressional delegation's support and the FAA's continued investment.
Since 2021, Ossoff and Warnock have delivered nearly $40 million in total federal funding for Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, including $10 million through the FAA's Airport Terminal Program announced in May 2026, more than $11 million for taxiway construction as part of a broader $60 million package for Georgia airports in September 2024, nearly $6 million for infrastructure upgrades as part of a $120 million statewide grant in May 2024, and $6.5 million in 2023 for security screening checkpoint expansion.
