ADM Aéroports de Montréal confirmed at 09:12 EDT on Tuesday that a Samsic ground-handling employee died following an apron incident at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport the previous evening. Emergency protocols were activated at approximately 19:30 EDT on Monday, August 24, after the incident occurred involving a French Bee Airbus A350 during pushback operations.

The aircraft had been scheduled to depart for Paris Orly at 18:00 EDT; it eventually departed at 00:09 EDT on August 25, roughly six hours and nine minutes behind schedule. Flight data indicates a second A350 operated the departure. ADM chief executive Yves Beauchamp said, "The loss of a member of our airport community affects us all deeply." ADM said it had offered support to witnesses and was cooperating with the investigation, and stated that broader airport operations continued throughout the incident.
Quebec's workplace safety authority CNESST is expected to handle the workplace investigation. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada was notified, though no deployment notice had been made public as of early Tuesday. Authorities have not identified any technical defect with the aircraft. Air Canada was not involved in the incident, and Airbus, manufacturer of the A350, has not been cited for any technical fault.
