West Star Aviation Offers Aviation Partners Winglet Upgrades for Falcon 50, Drawing on Six Falcon Installations in Two Years
Why It MattersThe offering signals continued MRO demand for aftermarket winglet retrofits on legacy Falcon business jets as operators seek fuel and range efficiency gains.
West Star Aviation's facility in Chattanooga, TN, is promoting Aviation Partners, Inc. winglet modifications for Dassault Falcon 50 operators, drawing on experience from six Falcon winglet installations over the past two years — three on Falcon 900 aircraft and three on Falcon 2000 aircraft. West Star states the winglets reduce wingtip-induced drag, offering the Falcon 50 up to 5% additional range at Mach 0.80, more than 7% additional range at long-range cruise, fuel savings of up to 7%, improved climb performance, and the ability to operate up to 1,500 feet higher.

The modification also adds LED navigation and strobe lighting, with typical installation downtime of four to five weeks depending on aircraft condition, configuration, and project scope. West Star reports having installed 100 or more sets of API winglets across its Falcon and Hawker fleet organization-wide, and recommends pairing the installation with an upcoming C-Check to consolidate downtime alongside avionics, cabin, or paint work. Beyond Chattanooga, West Star says all of its full-service locations — East Alton, IL, Grand Junction, CO, and Perryville, MO — can perform the API winglet installations.
