Jetex Founder Adel Mardini Built a Global Aviation Ground-Services Brand from Dubai

Why It MattersThe model shows branded FBO experiences and coordinated ground services can raise sector-wide standards while helping airports court business-aviation traffic beyond scheduled connectivity.

Adel Mardini founded Jetex on the premise of bringing luxury-hotel-style responsiveness, design and hospitality to flight support and fixed-base operations. Two decades later, Jetex has grown from its Dubai origins into a global aviation-services brand.

Mardini's model rests on the idea that a private-aviation journey involves far more than time in the air — landing permits, fuel, ground handling, customs, crew support, transport and terminal services all affect reliability, and a single failure can compromise an entire trip. Jetex has worked to make these elements feel coordinated despite wide variation in regulatory and supplier environments by country. Its branded terminals, featuring private lounges, concierge support and purposeful design, turned the FBO into part of the premium product rather than a functional waiting room, an approach credited with pushing broader sector standards higher.

Building the network has required Mardini to manage relationships with airport authorities, civil-aviation regulators, fuel providers, ground handlers, governments, aircraft operators and passengers simultaneously, with some facilities operated directly and others through local partners. His approach pairs digital tools for tracking services and communication with retained human oversight, on the view that last-minute complexity often cannot be resolved by an interface alone.

On sustainability, Mardini has acknowledged private aviation's high per-passenger emissions and growing public scrutiny, saying ground-service firms can support sustainable aviation fuel uptake and credible reporting but that incremental improvements should not be presented as a complete answer. He has also argued that a reliable FBO creates measurable value for destination airports by attracting corporate movements, investment visits and high-spending leisure traffic, particularly where scheduled connectivity is limited.
