Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority and Skyports Sign Definitive Agreement for Four-Vertiport AAM Network, Targeting Q3 2027 Launch
Why It MattersThe agreement expands the UAE's advanced air mobility infrastructure buildout, positioning Ras Al Khaimah alongside Dubai as inter-emirate vertiport networks take shape.
The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) and Skyports have signed a Definitive Agreement to develop a network of four vertiports across Ras Al Khaimah, with commercial services targeted for the third quarter of 2027. The agreement was signed by Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, director general of RAKTA, and Duncan Walker, CEO of Skyports.

The deal builds on a multi-year strategic partnership that began in 2024 and follows an initial Memorandum of Understanding and a Framework Agreement signed in 2025. Phase 1 of the program will focus on Al Marjan Island and Jebel Jais, connecting two of the emirate's key tourism destinations, with two additional vertiports planned in subsequent phases subject to further planning, business case development and regulatory requirements.
The network is designed to provide fast point-to-point connections within Ras Al Khaimah and to enable inter-emirate links, with Dubai identified as the first planned inter-emirate connection. The vertiport infrastructure will be built with flexibility to accommodate different certified aircraft types and approved operators.
For Skyports, the agreement extends its UAE AAM infrastructure footprint beyond its existing vertiport network under development in Dubai, aligning with Ras Al Khaimah's Comprehensive Mobility Plan 2030 and coordinated development with local and federal authorities.
