The Windsor by Heathrow Launches Bespoke Afternoon Tea Created with Pastry Chef Cherish Finden

Why It MattersThe partnership shows how private terminals are using curated culinary experiences, rather than lounge amenities alone, to differentiate premium ground service for high-value travellers.

What happened

The Windsor by Heathrow, the airport's private luxury terminal, has launched its first bespoke Afternoon Tea experience, developed in partnership with pastry chef Cherish Finden, known as a judge on Channel 4's Bake Off: The Professionals. The Signature Afternoon Tea menu, curated by Finden, blends British tradition with Asian-inspired flavours and is available exclusively to private clients travelling through The Windsor as part of their private terminal booking, with guests encouraged to pre-book ahead of their visit.

The menu features handcrafted pâtisserie, including a chocolate gâteau layered with Guanaja whipped ganache, crunchy praline feuilletine and Dulcey crémeux, as well as a tropical coconut creation combining lemongrass-infused pineapple compote, coconut mousse and coconut dacquoise. The Afternoon Tea is served on bespoke crockery on a tiered stand.

Finden, who brings more than 30 years of international culinary experience, said the collection was inspired by her Singaporean roots and cherished culinary memories. "Each creation has been thoughtfully crafted to tell a story of flavour, craftsmanship and discovery," she said. Charlotte Burns, VIP Lead at Heathrow, said the partnership with Finden was intended to bring guests "an extra touch of luxury" during their visit to The Windsor.

Industry impact & what to watch

Private terminal operators increasingly compete on bespoke, named-talent experiences rather than on speed or privacy alone, since those two baseline promises are now standard across the segment. Bringing in a recognised pastry chef to create an exclusive, pre-bookable menu signals an attempt to build a brand identity around hospitality detail, something that is easier to market and differentiate than security processing times or lounge square footage.

How this plays out for The Windsor by Heathrow will depend on whether the collaboration becomes a recurring, rotating feature or a one-off launch moment, and whether similar private terminals elsewhere respond with their own named culinary partnerships.
