AERO Middle East × Sand & Fun 2027 to Debut at Riyadh's Al Thumamah Airport in December

AERO Middle East × Sand & Fun 2027 is scheduled to run 7–11 December 2027 at Al Thumamah Airport in Riyadh, marking the regional debut of the AERO brand in the Middle East. The five-day event is organised through a partnership between Messe Frankfurt Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Aviation Club, combining the AERO brand with the established Sand & Fun aviation expo to cover air shows, exhibitions, innovation displays and entertainment aimed at the Middle East general aviation market.
Organisers note that pilot training demand in Saudi Arabia is among the fastest-growing globally, supported by the country's Vision 2030 programme to expand domestic aviation, and position the event as a primary annual venue for flight schools seeking student volume, graduate placement with Saudi carriers, or market entry. The original AERO show continues at Messe Friedrichshafen in Germany, with its next edition set for 14–17 April 2027, sharing branding heritage with the Saudi event but operated by separate regional Messe Frankfurt entities.
The standalone Saudi International Airshow, previously held biennially at Thumamah Airport, did not run in 2026, with Saudi aerospace event activity consolidating into AERO Middle East × Sand & Fun at the same venue.
