Landline to Launch Sonoma County–SFO 'Straight to Gate' Coach Service With TSA Screening on November 17
Why It MattersRemote TSA screening that ends with a coach delivering passengers into SFO's secure area extends a major hub's catchment to regional airports without adding runway or terminal capacity.
Landline will launch a "Straight to Gate" service on November 17 connecting Sonoma County Airport (STS) with San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Eligible passengers check in, drop their luggage and clear Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening at Sonoma County Airport before boarding a motorcoach, which delivers them into SFO's secure area so they can walk to their gate without another security checkpoint. Checked bags are transferred to the airline.

The service will run eight daily round trips, with adult fares starting at $55 one way. Landline's timetable lists departures from Sonoma County from 5:00 AM through 7:45 PM. The journey generally takes just over two hours, though road traffic can affect arrival times. Landline's booking process recommends a coach based on the passenger's SFO departure, with minimum connection times of 45 minutes for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international departures. Children aged 15 and younger ride free with a paying adult.
Outbound, the service is initially available to eligible passengers with a same-day flight on United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines or JetBlue; Landline's booking process checks eligibility. Return trips are open to passengers arriving at SFO on any airline, but they must collect checked bags at baggage claim before boarding the coach at Terminals 1, 2, 3 or the International Terminal. The airline ticket is separate from the Landline fare, and airline baggage policies and fees continue to apply.
The service is intended to give North Bay residents easier access to SFO's domestic and international network without driving to San Francisco. It builds on Landline's remote-terminal operation in Framingham, Massachusetts, which connects passengers with Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Landline has identified other California airports, including Monterey Regional and Stockton Metropolitan, as potential candidates for similar SFO connections; those remain possibilities rather than confirmed launches.
