India Explores Partnership with Czech Republic to Build 19-, 40- and 90-Seat Aircraft for UDAN Routes
Why It MattersA domestic regional-aircraft programme for 19- to 90-seat types would target the thin regional routes where small commercial and business aircraft compete for the same short-haul demand.
India is exploring a partnership with the Czech Republic to develop and manufacture 19-, 40- and 90-seater aircraft in India. The aim is to strengthen regional air connectivity under the UDAN scheme, with potential supply to international markets as well.

Naidu said in a post on X that he was most excited by the prospect of partnerships for Made in India aircraft. He described the talks as a chance to combine India's regional connectivity needs with Czech manufacturing capabilities, and said building aircraft of different capacities in India to connect UDAN destinations would also allow manufacturing for global markets.
