Global Aerospace Technology to Expand Into Batangas Months After Setting Up Philippine Ecozone Base

Why It MattersThe move shows aerospace supply-chain work, including UAV and component production, being pulled into Philippine ecozones as the country courts advanced manufacturing for Western aerospace customers.

Global Aerospace Technology, a global aerospace parts manufacturer, is expanding to Batangas less than a year after establishing a manufacturing base in a Philippine ecozone. At the new facility, the company plans to carry out manufacturing, fabrication, machining, injection molding, thermoforming and assembly of aerospace parts and components for international customers, with exports planned for markets including the United States and the United Kingdom.

The company first registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) in February this year. At its Cavite facility, it manufactures and assembles unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned aircraft systems, special-purpose machinery and aerospace components. At registration, Peza Director General Tereso Panga had floated plans to cluster aviation-related investments, including those of Global Aerospace Technology, to develop "aerotropolis ecozones" in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

Panga said the expansion demonstrates growing confidence in the Philippines as a competitive base for advanced manufacturing, particularly in aviation and aerospace. He said it could strengthen the country's aerospace manufacturing capabilities through technology and knowledge transfer while creating opportunities for smaller businesses in the supply chain. The expansion is also expected to support Collins Aerospace and Safran Aerospace. Company president and managing director Jason Carl Tyas said Global Aerospace Technology is committed to developing local capability, investing in people and technology, and strengthening the Philippine aerospace supply chain.

Manufacturing remains a key investment driver for Peza, accounting for 89 of the 222 projects approved so far this year. Total approved investments across all sectors stood at P297.14 billion, and Panga has expressed confidence that Peza could surpass its previous investment record, with four projects worth at least P50 billion each in the pipeline.
