Embraer Phenom 300EV Receives Triple Certification from FAA, EASA, and ANAC with Garmin Emergency Autoland

What happened
Embraer announced on Tuesday that its Phenom 300EV light jet has received triple certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, and Brazil's Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil. The certification makes the Phenom 300EV the first light jet and the largest business jet certified with Garmin Emergency Autoland. Embraer confirmed its previously announced target of 2028 for first deliveries of the model.

The Phenom 300EV is described by Embraer as an evolution of the best-selling light jet series. Its projected range is 2,055 nautical miles with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves, improving on the Phenom 300E's 2,010 nm, enabling routes such as Aspen, Colorado to New York, or London to Athens. The aircraft retains the 300E's top speed of Mach 0.80 (533 knots) and high-speed cruise at 464 knots, as well as its maximum cabin altitude of 6,600 feet, while adding approximately 430 pounds of additional payload capacity.
Garmin Emergency Autoland allows the aircraft to complete a fully automated landing in the event of pilot incapacitation. The system can be activated manually or automatically if prolonged pilot inactivity is detected, and once engaged it selects a suitable airfield, transmits automated messages to air traffic control, and shuts down the engines after landing. Autoland is currently installed on more than 1,000 aircraft across types including the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet and SR Series, Daher TBM 940, and Piper M600/SLS, and the system underwent its first real-world activation in late 2025.

The certification places the Phenom 300EV in a wave of light-jet and super-midsize programs adding automated emergency systems as standard equipment rather than optional safety features, following Embraer's earlier triple certification of the Praetor 500E and 600E. Garmin Emergency Autoland's spread across more than 1,000 aircraft of varying types shows the technology moving from single-pilot piston and turboprop platforms into larger, faster jets with more complex systems to manage during an automated landing sequence.
Light-jet buyers evaluating the 300EV against upcoming competitors will weigh range, payload and cabin connectivity alongside safety systems that are becoming table stakes across the category, including autobrake, rudder-by-wire, and runway-overrun alerting bundled into this update. The addition of Gogo Galileo connectivity with a Starlink option via supplemental type certification also signals that inflight connectivity upgrades are following a similar staged-certification path.
The next dated marker is Textron Aviation's Gen3 Citation CJ4 certification targeted for this year, with the CJ3 and M2 following in 2027, and HondaJet's Echelon also targeting 2028 market entry alongside the 300EV.
