Prince Aviation completes Cessna Citation XLS Part 147 practical training in Belgrade for engineers from four European firms

Why It MattersSplitting type training into online theory and a short hands-on phase cuts engineers' time away from their fleets, a model that independent Part 147 providers can scale across regions.

Prince Aviation has completed a practical EASA Part 147 type training course for the Cessna 560 XL/XLS (Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545) at its Part 145 hangar in Belgrade, Serbia. The practical phase ran from 28 September to 9 October 2026, following four weeks of online theoretical training held from 31 August to 25 September.

The combined B1/B2 course was attended by aircraft maintenance engineers from Avantgarde Aviation (Germany), DSA (Czech Republic), Alpha Air (Germany) and Excellent Jet Service (Germany), along with several freelance engineers. Boško Zagorac, Part 145 Training Manager and Part 147 Quality Manager at Prince Aviation, said the group worked hands-on for two weeks, guided by instructors who maintain the Citation XLS every day. He said delivering theory online and holding only the practical part in Belgrade lets engineers spend less time away from their own fleets.

Prince Aviation is also delivering its Citation 560 XL/XLS training outside Europe; a full course covering theory and practice is due in India in the coming weeks. Its Part 147 organisation received its first certificate from the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia in 2008, became EASA-approved in 2014, and has since issued more than 2,000 certificates for B1.1, B2 and C category courses.
