StandardAero Moves Grapevine, Texas PT6A Operations to Dallas-Fort Worth Campus
Why It MattersConsolidating PT6A heavy maintenance at one site with test cell support and duty-free import status points to a push for faster turn times in turboprop engine aftermarket service.
StandardAero (NYSE: SARO), an independent pure-play provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services, has completed the move of its PT6A operations from Grapevine, Texas, to its primary campus at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The company says PT6A operators will continue to receive the same heavy maintenance service from the DFW facility, with added benefits of greater capacity, on-site test cell support, and US duty-free import through the site's foreign trade zone (FTZ) status. The move will also enable full overhaul capability to launch in 2027.

Giovanni Spitale, President of StandardAero Business Aviation, said the shift is intended to add value for customers and that turn-time optimization from the expanded capability justifies the complexity of moving engine maintenance operations between sites. Joe Capra, StandardAero Vice President of Commercial Programs, said returning customers of the Grapevine facility are already inducting their PT6A engines into the DFW facility, supported by the same OEM-trained technicians, technical support and engineering expertise.
StandardAero has supported the PT6A engine program for more than 60 years, and the first independent Pratt & Whitney Canada-authorized maintenance facility was established in Dallas, Texas, under previously acquired company Dallas Airmotive. The company cites more than 21,000 active PT6A engines worldwide on more than 14,000 aircraft. It is a Pratt & Whitney Canada designated overhaul facility for the PT6A in Dallas, Texas; Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada; Gonesse, France; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
StandardAero is exhibiting at NBAA-BACE in the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall, booth #1745, on October 20-22, 2026.
