Duncan Aviation Adds Four Design Assistants to Interior Teams in Michigan, Nebraska and Utah

Why It MattersAdding support roles beneath designers points to MROs investing in cabin refurbishment capacity and in continuity between customer design intent and what production teams ultimately deliver.

Duncan Aviation has expanded its aircraft interior design teams with four new design assistants: Tara Schamehorn in Battle Creek, Michigan; Halle Russell and Schyler Hoberty in Lincoln, Nebraska; and Taelyn Fauset in Provo, Utah. Their appointments complement the addition of new full-time designers.

Design assistants work alongside the designers to prepare material samples and presentations, research options, organise customer selections, maintain design documentation, and support communication with the teams responsible for carrying each concept through production. Duncan Aviation says the added support lets designers stay focused on listening to customers and developing interiors that reflect their preferences, and helps create continuity between the design presented to the customer and the details executed by production teams.

Schamehorn previously spent five years as a bridal consultant, where she gained experience with fabrics, colours and textures and with helping clients make personal selections. Russell joined Duncan Aviation as an intern in January 2026 and was promoted to design assistant after completing the internship; she studied at Southeast Community College. Hoberty joined in June 2026 as a design assistant in Lincoln, after four years at Fort Hays State University, where she gained experience in concept development, space planning, material selection, research, presentations and technical design software. With these four additions, the design teams at all three full-service facilities gain support at key touchpoints throughout the refurbishment process.
