FAA Certifies Boeing 737-10, Largest Model in the 737 MAX Family
Why It MattersCertification of the largest single-aisle MAX variant adds high-capacity narrowbody supply, shifting where airline capacity growth can come from once deliveries begin.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified the Boeing 737-10, the newest and largest member of the 737 MAX family, on Oct. 20, 2026. The certification clears the way for Boeing to begin deliveries in the coming months.

The 737-10 can carry up to 230 passengers in a maximum seating configuration, and typically seats 185 to 210 in a two-class layout. Boeing says it has the lowest per-seat costs of any single-aisle airplane in service and 365 nautical miles more range than competitors without auxiliary fuel tanks, with a range of up to 3,100 nautical miles (5,740 km).
