Avfuel's Keith Sawyer to Moderate Opening Sustainability Panel at NBAA-BACE on Oct. 21
Why It MattersSAF documentation, emissions reporting and cross-border regulation are moving from niche sustainability topics to routine supply-side questions that FBO networks and their operator customers must prepare for.
Avfuel Corporation said Keith Sawyer, its manager of alternative fuels, will moderate the opening panel of the Business Aviation Sustainability Summit at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas. The panel, "Fueling the Future 2.0: Sustainability Strategies for Business Aviation," is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Room W228 of the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall.
Sawyer will bring the fuel supply perspective to a discussion with Nancy Bsales, chief operating officer and cofounder of 4AIR; Scott Cutshall, president, real estate and sustainability at Clay Lacy; Adam Hartley, CEO of The Regulatory Toolbox, LLC; and Sunny Lopez, senior director of aviation and sustainable fuel sales at Phillips 66. The panel will focus on emissions reduction, reporting expectations, emerging regulatory requirements and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Panelists will examine developments in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and EU, including what operators should track and how they can prepare, and will discuss when FBO customers may expect access to SAF and supporting documentation. Sawyer said the panel's view is that SAF will be part of every FBO's offering by 2030.
Avfuel supplies physical SAF at 59 locations worldwide and offers SAF attributes through its book-and-claim program. It holds ISCC certifications for EU, PLUS and CORSIA. More than 40 Avfuel team members will staff booth 3445 throughout NBAA-BACE, joined by 23 co-exhibiting partners, primarily Avfuel-branded FBOs plus equipment partner Rampmaster. The booth will host happy hours on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and a pilot activity called Follow Your Route. In November, Avfuel president C.R. Sincock, II is scheduled for a fireside chat on fuel logistics at Corporate Jet Investor Miami.
