Company run by ex-Munster rugby player Federico Pucciariello weighs €360m sustainable aviation fuel plant in Ireland
Why It MattersA project of this scale would add a new fuel supply option in Ireland and show that SAF developers are looking to port-side sites beyond established production hubs.
Essential Energy Holding (EEH), an Argentina-based group, is considering building a sustainable aviation fuel plant in the Republic of Ireland, potentially at Foynes deep water port in Co Limerick.

EEH chief executive Federico Pucciariello, a former Munster rugby player, estimated the investment at $350 million to $400 million (€312 million to €360 million). He said the plant would directly employ around 200 people, with about 1,000 people involved in construction.
Pucciariello played 85 games for Munster across four seasons, including the 2006 Heineken Cup win over Biarritz.
