Aviation Supplies & Academics Releases 128-Page Guide to FAA Medical Certification
Why It MattersA dedicated reference on medical certification and BasicMed shows how much of a pilot's career depends on regulatory process rather than flying skill alone.
Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) has published "An Aviator's Field Guide to FAA Medical Certification," a 128-page book offering legal and regulatory guidance for pilots seeking medical clearances.

ASA officials said the guide explains how the FAA evaluates applications under 14 CFR Part 67 and why a favorable assessment from a personal physician does not guarantee certification. It covers MedXPress, Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) examinations, Conditions AMEs Can Issue (CACI), special issuance authorizations, deferrals, denials, appeals, and BasicMed.
