EHang Begins Malaysia AAM Sandbox Cooperation; Florida Polytechnic Police Seek FAA Approval for Jetson One eVTOL Patrols
Why It MattersRegulators in different markets are now testing advanced air mobility through sandbox frameworks and early public-safety use cases, shaping how eVTOL operations may be approved before commercial service begins.
China's EHang has announced a sandbox cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia to examine the safety, technical and regulatory considerations associated with advanced air mobility (AAM). EHang is working with civil aviation authorities in different markets to develop regulatory pathways tailored to local requirements.

Separately, the Florida Polytechnic University Police Department has become the first U.S. law enforcement agency to operate an eVTOL vehicle. The university is seeking FAA approval to use the single-seat Jetson One for aerial patrols, which would allow officers to reach areas that are difficult to access by traditional vehicles.
