Messi lands in Asturias on private Bombardier Global Express for Princesa de los Deportes 2026 events
Why It MattersHigh-profile private jet arrivals at regional Spanish airports show how celebrity and sports-driven demand can concentrate large-cabin business jet traffic around a single event.
Lionel Messi arrived in Asturias for his commitments tied to the "Princesa de los Deportes" 2026 award, landing at 10.25 and then travelling by car to Oviedo. Tight security kept the stopover brief, and fans were unable to get near him.

He flew on his private Bombardier BD-700 Global Express, which departed around 21.00 Miami time from the Fort Lauderdale area of Florida, where he lives. The jet is nearly 30 metres long, has a crew of up to four and seats 19 passengers. The cabin includes a club area with four fully articulating leather executive seats.
