Vietnam's Business Jet Fleet Grows to 15 as Sun Group, Thaco and Novaland Appear on Owner List

Why It MattersA fleet made up entirely of long-range and large-cabin jets shows a market where ownership is concentrated among large conglomerates buying heavy aircraft, with no light or midsize tier beneath them.

What happened

Vietnam had 15 business aircraft at the end of 2025, up from 9 a year earlier, according to the Asia-Pacific Business Aircraft Fleet Report from Asian Sky Group (ASG). The whole fleet falls into the long-range and large-cabin groups, with 13 of the aircraft in the long-range group.

Vietnam's Business Jet Fleet Grows to 15 as Sun Group, Thaco and Novaland Appear on Owner List

Data from Planespotters, updated to October, links a number of Vietnamese businesses to models including the Gulfstream G650ER, G700, Dassault Falcon and Embraer. The list of companies tied to business jets in Vietnam includes Sun Group, Thaco and Novaland.

Sun Group is known to have two Gulfstream aircraft.

Industry impact & what to watch

A fleet that sits entirely in the long-range and large-cabin groups describes a market built on a narrow base of buyers. Aircraft of this size are typically bought by large conglomerates for intercontinental use, which means growth tends to arrive in single, high-value purchases rather than as a broad rise in small-jet ownership.

Going from 9 to 15 aircraft in one year is a small absolute change but a sizeable one for a fleet this size, and it shows how quickly a handful of orders can move the national count. The named owners and the Gulfstream, Dassault and Embraer models tied to them indicate which manufacturers currently hold the Vietnamese order books.

The next ASG fleet report, covering the end of 2026, would show whether the count keeps climbing or levels off.
