Catheter Precision Renames Itself Flyte Aviation, Changes NYSE American Ticker to VJET
Why It MattersA listed life-sciences company recasting itself as an aviation brand shows how digital booking platforms with standardized pricing are drawing capital into charter, a segment the company puts at about $11.6 billion.
What happened
Catheter Precision, Inc. has changed its corporate name to Flyte Aviation, Inc. and its NYSE American ticker symbol from "VTAK" to "VJET," effective the day of the announcement. The company said the change reflects a repositioning around aviation, technology and the Flyte brand, and that it aims to accelerate growth of a proprietary, AI-driven platform for discovering, accessing and booking private aviation.

David Jenkins, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, described the move as the official launch of the company's AI technology-driven aviation platform. Marc Sellouk, who founded Flyte in 2018, said the company concluded that a main problem for travelers in a fragmented industry is the complexity of booking private jets at competitive prices with ready availability.
Flyte operates a growing fleet of Cirrus Vision Jets and offers a direct-to-consumer booking platform with standardized pricing on select routes. Its FAA-certified Part 135 operating subsidiary is Ponderosa Air, LLC. The company's stated value proposition is privacy, comfort, reliability and convenience at a competitive price.
For the fourth quarter of 2026, which began October 1, Flyte plans to invest in an upgraded website, a mobile application, digital marketing, social media, public relations, AI data analytics and customer acquisition. The company said it may pursue growth through organic expansion, strategic relationships, technology development and acquisitions.
Market sizing and Life Sciences commitments
Citing a Fortune Business Insights report dated September 14, 2026, the company said the U.S. private jet charter market is worth about $11.6 billion in 2026 and, at an estimated 6.9% annual growth rate, could exceed $14 billion by 2029 and $16 billion by 2031. The company noted that it has not independently verified these third-party estimates.
The company also said its Life Sciences operations, including its LockeT and VIVO customers, will not be capital constrained or downsized, and that it remains committed to funding its ongoing research trials and studies. In its forward-looking statements, it cited risks including its limited aviation operating history, history of losses, need for additional capital and dilution, and compliance with NYSE American continued listing standards.
Industry impact & what to watch
Charter has long been sold through a patchwork of brokers, operators and memberships, and Flyte's pitch targets the booking step itself: standardized pricing, a consumer app and ready availability on select routes. A company that holds its own aircraft and a Part 135 certificate through Ponderosa Air, while selling directly to travelers, is testing whether owning both the fleet and the storefront can undercut intermediaries in a market it sizes at about $11.6 billion.
The move also shows how capital markets can be used to enter aviation. Changing a name and ticker is a fast route to an aviation identity, but the operating substance is a small single-type fleet, a limited aviation operating history and a stated need for additional capital. Single-type Cirrus Vision Jet operations are a narrow product, so growth beyond select routes depends on how many aircraft are added and on the acquisitions and partnerships the company says it may pursue.
The first measurable test is the fourth-quarter 2026 spending program on the website, mobile app, data analytics and customer acquisition, followed by whether the company reports its continued commitment to Life Sciences funding alongside it. Fleet additions, route coverage beyond the select routes and compliance with NYSE American continued listing standards are the items that would show whether the repositioning is operational or mainly a branding change.
