SELECT Private Jets by Internova: Luxury Travelers Turn to Private Aviation to Save Time, Analysis of 2026 Bookings Shows
Why It MattersPrivate charter demand is being driven by time savings and convenience rather than exclusivity, widening the customer base to families and first-time flyers booking through travel advisors.
An analysis of 2026 booking patterns and client activity from SELECT Private Jets by Internova, formerly ALTOUR Air, indicates that luxury travelers are increasingly choosing private aviation to maximize vacation time, simplify journeys and create more seamless travel experiences, rather than for exclusivity alone. Travelers are opting for direct flights on their own timetable instead of navigating crowded airports, connections and fixed airline schedules. "Today's luxury traveler is focused on making the most of every moment," said Kate Scott, Vice President of SELECT Private Jets by Internova.

In summer 2026, Europe continued to dominate demand among private air travelers, with Italy leading bookings, followed closely by France and other popular European destinations. Within the United States, New York to South Florida and New York to Los Angeles remain among the busiest routes. Pricing varies by route and demand. On popular routes, costs shared among a full group can be comparable to last-minute first-class commercial fares, according to the analysis.
Seasonal events also shape demand: ski destinations see strong winter traffic, while the Kentucky Derby, the Masters and the Super Bowl consistently drive surges in private travel. From Thanksgiving through New Year's, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Providenciales, St. Barths and the U.S. Virgin Islands rank among the most popular destinations. Families are also increasingly using private aviation to simplify logistics, and for many first-time private flyers the appeal is efficiency and convenience, such as avoiding connections and flying closer to the final destination.
SELECT Private Jets by Internova provides private jet charter through a network of aviation partners and is part of Internova Travel Group, which represents more than 100,000 travel advisors worldwide. Travelers can book through an affiliated travel advisor.
