SyberJet Opens Reservations for SJ34 and SJ36 Business Jets, Targeting 2029 and 2032 Deliveries

Why It MattersOpening books for two single-pilot jets years before delivery, with discounted launch pricing tied to the first 250 customers, shows how a small manufacturer funds development through early customer commitments.

What happened

Arizona-based SyberJet Aircraft opened reservations for its next-generation SJ34 and SJ36 business jets at the National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas on Monday. At its invite-only SyberJet World event at Henderson Executive Airport (KHND), the company announced the SJ34 production timeline and unveiled its first full-scale SJ36 mock-up. Expected deliveries are 2029 for the SJ34 and 2032 for the SJ36. Reservations can be made on the company's website or through its sales email.

The SJ34 is designed to replace the FAA-certified SJ30-2, whose production ended in 2009. The single-pilot SJ34 is projected to cruise at up to Mach 0.83 (about 637 mph). Larger Williams International engines will deliver 5,000 to 6,400 pounds of total thrust. In August, the company made an unofficial claim for the East-to-West transcontinental speed record in the C-1.f class after an SJ30-2 flew nonstop from Jacksonville International Airport (KJAX) to Brown Field Municipal Airport (KSDM) in San Diego, averaging 505.3 mph over about 4 hours and 7 minutes.

The nine-seat SJ36 is intended to bridge a gap between the light and midsize jet segments. It is also designed for one pilot, with a 49,000-foot ceiling and sea-level cabin pressure up to 41,000 feet. Projected nonstop range is 3,000 nm, and top speed is expected to reach Mach 0.88 (about 675 mph). The company plans to share SJ36 flight test, program and certification updates via its newsletter and social channels.

Both aircraft will use SyberJet's proprietary SyberVision avionics, which comprises six 4K touchscreen displays, charts and an AI-assisted flight tool called SyberPilot. It offers over-the-air updates, remote flight-plan upload and cabin temperature control, and lets the manufacturer perform remote maintenance and diagnostics.

The Passage One program

SyberJet also launched Passage One, an exclusive program limited to the first 250 customers. Members get launch prices of $10 million for the SJ34 (versus $12 million) and $14 million for the SJ36 (versus $16 million), plus two pilot type-rating training slots.

The program also includes 1,000 hours or five years of exterior, avionics and interior coverage (excluding consumables), 1,000 hours or five years of Williams' TAP Blue engine maintenance, and access to the Syber Fuel program covering 1,000 hours or five years of fuel, capped at 100,000 gallons. Full terms are on the company's website.

Industry impact & what to watch

A manufacturer taking reservations three to six years ahead of first delivery is a familiar way for a smaller airframer to finance a clean-sheet program. Capping the discounted price at the first 250 customers turns the early order book into both funding and evidence of demand, and the bundled maintenance, fuel and training coverage lowers the perceived risk of committing to an aircraft that does not yet exist.

Both jets sit in a segment where single-pilot operation, long range and high speed are the selling points, and the SJ36 is positioned in the gap between light and midsize categories. Buyers weighing a reservation are effectively comparing a promised performance envelope and a delivery slot against aircraft they can already fly, so the credibility of the timeline matters as much as the specifications.

The next milestones are the SJ36 flight test, program and certification updates the company says it will publish through its newsletter and social channels. Those updates will show whether the 2029 and 2032 delivery targets are holding.
