US Army Black Hawk Passes Close to Stadium Fireworks During Seahawks-Bears Pregame Flyover at Lumen Field
Why It MattersThe incident puts the coordination of military ceremonial flyovers with pyrotechnic displays over crowded venues under scrutiny, adding a low-altitude urban safety question to US event airspace planning.
A US Army Black Hawk helicopter passed very close to stadium fireworks during a pregame flyover at the Seattle Seahawks–Chicago Bears Monday Night Football game at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington, on November 2, 2026.

Four US Army Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from the 2-158th Assault Helicopter Battalion, part of the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, flew the ceremonial flyover as part of the national anthem ceremony before a crowd of about 70,000. The first three helicopters had passed over the stadium before the fireworks began, but the fourth was still near the stadium when they went off.
