Vietnam's Business-Jet Fleet Grew 67% in 2025, Fastest in Asia-Pacific, to Reach 15 Aircraft Worth ~$800 Million

Why It MattersVietnam's shift toward long-range types shows a smaller Asia-Pacific market building intercontinental-capable capacity rather than short-haul fleets, with growth carrying into 2026 registrations.

What happened

Vietnam's business-jet fleet expanded by six aircraft in 2025, rising from nine to fifteen, a 66.7% increase that made it the fastest-growing fleet in the Asia-Pacific region for the year, according to Asian Sky Group's (ASG) Business Jet Fleet Report – YE 2025 Asia-Pacific. Of the fifteen aircraft counted by ASG at year-end 2025, twelve carried Vietnamese registrations — up four from the previous year — while the remaining three were registered in the United States or other jurisdictions. The combined fleet is valued at approximately VND 20,000 billion, roughly $800 million at current exchange rates.

Thirteen of the fifteen jets, nearly 87% of the fleet, belong to the long-range category. Gulfstream accounts for seven aircraft: four Gulfstream G650ER, two Gulfstream G700, and one Gulfstream G650. Dassault contributes six jets — five Falcon 8X and one Falcon 2000S — while Bombardier and Embraer each supply one aircraft.

Growth has continued into 2026. At a Falcon 10X presentation in Hanoi on 9 July, Carlos Brana, Executive Vice-President for Civil Aircraft at Dassault Aviation, stated that the number of business jets in operation in Vietnam had risen to sixteen. The Gulfstream G700, priced at approximately $75–80 million new, received FAA type certification in March 2024; it has an overall length of 33.48 m, a wingspan of 31.39 m, and a cabin 19.41 m long, 2.49 m wide, and 1.91 m tall, with total cabin volume of approximately 73.71 m³. Its interior can be configured with up to five living zones, seating up to 19 passengers and sleeping up to 13, with a published range exceeding 14,000 km. Two Gulfstream G700 aircraft were added to Vietnam's fleet during 2025.

On the morning of 18 September, a Gulfstream G700 landed at Phu Cat Airport in Gia Lai province, having previously transited through Tan Son Nhat Airport and Hanoi, drawing public attention at the regional airport. For comparison, the Gulfstream G650ER has a published range of approximately 13,890 km and the Falcon 8X approximately 11,945 km, enabling nonstop connections to major global economic centres subject to operating conditions. Vietnam has also become a destination for internationally owned business jets: in October 2024, a series of Gulfstream aircraft appeared at Da Nang Airport for Gulfstream's annual customer conference, attended by approximately 50 billionaires from multiple countries.

Industry impact & what to watch

A fleet moving from nine to fifteen aircraft in a single year is a small-base statistic, but the composition matters more than the count: nearly 87% of Vietnam's jets are long-range types capable of reaching major global centres nonstop, which signals demand from owners flying intercontinental routes rather than regional hops. That skews the local market toward higher-value aircraft like the Gulfstream G700, priced at $75–80 million new, and the Falcon 8X, rather than smaller cabin-class jets more common in denser regional markets.

The pattern also shows how a market can grow through both local ownership and inbound traffic simultaneously. Twelve of fifteen aircraft carry Vietnamese registration, up four from the prior year, while Vietnam has separately hosted internationally owned aircraft for events such as Gulfstream's 2024 Da Nang customer conference. Both channels build local infrastructure and visibility for business aviation without necessarily reflecting the same ownership base.

What comes into view next is whether the pace holds: Dassault's own July count already puts the in-country total at sixteen, ahead of ASG's year-end fifteen, suggesting further additions are being tracked in near-real time rather than waiting for the next annual report.
