TAT Technologies Named Sole Global Authorized Distributor of Honeywell GTCP 331-200/250 APU Parts, Extends MRO License to 2036

TAT Technologies Ltd. expanded its partnership with Honeywell Aerospace, becoming the sole global authorized distributor of spare parts for the GTCP 331-200/250 auxiliary power unit (APU) platform. The agreement was announced on July 14, 2026, and also extends TAT Technologies' MRO licenses for the GTCP 331-200/250 platform through 2036.

As part of the deal, TAT Technologies acquired three Honeywell Aerospace 131-9A APUs to support its trading and leasing operations. The expanded arrangement is designed to provide operators and lessors with a single source for both parts supply and MRO services for the platform.

Pairing exclusive spare-parts distribution with a long-term MRO license is a recurring structure in aftermarket agreements between OEMs and independent service providers: it converts a service relationship into a supply-chain position that is harder for competitors to contest. For an APU platform still in active fleet service, controlling both the parts pipeline and the authorized repair work gives one company leverage over pricing and turnaround time across the platform's remaining operational life.

This is how the APU aftermarket segment tends to consolidate: operators and lessors gain a single point of contact for parts and repairs, while the distributor gains predictable, long-dated revenue tied to a license term rather than one-off transactions. The addition of three 131-9A APUs to TAT's own trading and leasing fleet suggests the company is positioning to support operators directly through the equipment itself, not only through parts and labor.

What remains to be seen is how TAT prices and services the GTCP 331-200/250 platform now that Honeywell has removed alternative authorized distributors from the field, and whether the 2036 license term is matched by comparable investment in parts inventory and repair capacity over that horizon.
