Signature Aviation Opens New 433 sq m FBO Terminal at Glasgow Airport

Why It MattersThe upgrade reflects continued investment by large FBO networks in permanent, amenity-rich terminals as private aviation infrastructure matures at regional European airports.

Signature Aviation has opened a new fixed-base operator (FBO) terminal at Glasgow Airport (GLA), replacing a temporary structure that had served the company since the early 1990s. The new facility spans 433 square metres (about 5,000 square feet) and includes a lounge, a large business meeting room, a VIP lounge, showers and a dedicated screening room.

The redevelopment took place on the same site as the previous building, which was demolished as no longer fit for purpose. Amos Beech acted as both principal designer and principal contractor, engaging from the strategy stage to optimise the building's footprint within the available capital budget. The interior design reflects Signature Aviation's corporate brand while incorporating references to Glasgow's heritage and culture. Groundworks were carried out by Bottom Groundworks and the building envelope by Modulek, both appointed following competitive tender.

Signature Aviation operates a network of more than 200 private aviation terminals across 27 countries on five continents and describes itself as the largest distributor of sustainable aviation fuel in business aviation.
