China Hi-Tech Fair Launches Low-Altitude Economy & General Aviation Industry Expo at Its 28th Edition

The 28th China Hi-Tech Fair will feature a dedicated Low-Altitude Economy & General Aviation Industry Expo, organisers have announced, targeting a trillion-yuan market opportunity in China's expanding low-altitude sector. Approved by the State Council, China Hi-Tech Fair is a national-level exhibition held annually in Shenzhen and ranks alongside the Canton Fair and the China International Import Expo as one of China's three major exhibitions; since its 1999 launch it has been held 27 times, with the most recent edition generating more than 7 billion online impressions, coverage from over 3,000 media outlets across 120 countries and regions, and 450,000 professional visitors.
The expo will span the full industry value chain, including core components and propulsion systems, aircraft manufacturing and integration, ground infrastructure, airspace management, and application scenarios, with aircraft categories including business jets, helicopters, eVTOL aircraft, unmanned cargo aircraft, and drones for industrial, commercial, and defence use.
Host city Shenzhen has enacted China's first local legislation dedicated to the low-altitude economy, hosts more than 1,900 companies across the industry chain, and plans to develop 1,200 takeoff and landing sites and 1,000 routes, alongside what organisers describe as the world's first Smart Integrated Lower Airspace System. Nationally, the low-altitude economy has appeared in China's Government Work Report for three consecutive years and in recommendations for the 15th Five-Year Plan as a strategic emerging industry cluster, while the newly revised Civil Aviation Law of the People's Republic of China includes provisions encouraging general aviation development and infrastructure build-out. Early-bird booth bookings for the 28th edition are now open on a first-come, first-served basis.
