Moscow's Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky Airports Restrict Flight Operations Amid Drone Threat
Why It MattersRepeated closures at Moscow's main airports show how drone activity can disrupt a whole metropolitan airport system, a recurring exposure for operators flying business jets into the Russian capital region.
Temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft have been introduced at three Moscow airports: Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky. Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency announced the measures and said they were necessary to ensure flight safety.

The official reason was not specified, but the restrictions may be linked to the threat of drone attacks. Similar restrictions have been imposed at Moscow airports repeatedly in recent days amid reports of drone attacks on the Russian capital region. On October 23, the Russian authorities restricted operations at all four Moscow airports.
