NORAD announced it will enforce temporary flight restriction (TFR) airspace over multiple areas this week. General aviation pilots are reminded to check Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) before each flight, as required by the FAA, and to follow the outlined TFR procedures.
NORAD aircraft will respond to aircraft that violate these TFRs and take the necessary action to gain compliance. Pilots who violate TFR airspace may also be met by federal authorities upon landing and could be subject to an interview or further enforcement action.
