National Full-Service 100LL Average Hits $7.69 Per Gallon, Alaska Tops $11.61
Why It MattersFuel-price surveys built from thousands of FBO reports expose wide regional spreads in avgas cost, meaning where an operator fuels up can matter as much as how much they fly.
What happened
GlobalAir reported that the national average price for full-service 100LL avgas has reached $7.69 per gallon, based on fuel-price reports from 3,204 FBOs collected over the previous 30 days. The same GlobalAir data lists the national full-service average for Jet A at $8.25 per gallon and for sustainable aviation fuel at $10.52 per gallon.

Regionally, Alaska was the most expensive area for 100LL, averaging $11.61 per gallon, while the Central region was the least expensive at $7.00 per gallon. At the national average price, a 40-gallon fill-up of 100LL would cost approximately $308.
A separate AirNav report dated September 25 was also referenced regarding nationwide fuel pricing.
Industry impact & what to watch
Recurring fuel-price surveys built from large FBO samples give piston operators a benchmark against which to judge a local quote, rather than relying on a single airport's posted price. The gap between Alaska's $11.61 average and the Central region's $7.00 average shows how much geography alone can move the cost of the same fuel grade.
Such surveys work by aggregating self-reported or scraped prices across many FBOs, which smooths out one-off outliers but can lag fast-moving local changes, since figures are pooled over a 30-day window rather than reflecting a single day's rack price. Cross-referencing a GlobalAir-style average against a separate source like the AirNav report dated September 25 is one way operators and planners can sanity-check whether a quoted price is in line with the broader market before committing to a fuel stop.
