Hensoldt Receives Firm Order to Supply Avionics for India's ePlane e200X eVTOL Aircraft

What happened
Hensoldt has received a firm order from India's ePlane Company (Ubifly Technologies) to equip the company's e200X electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a dedicated avionics suite.
Under the contract, Hensoldt will supply systems covering navigation, situational awareness, and secure connectivity for dense urban environments. The package includes CaviConnect for secure air-to-ground communications, the EB1 onboard computer, and the SferiRec LCR100 flight data recorder.
ePlane Company has completed assembly of a full-scale e200X prototype and has begun a ground-test campaign. The company plans to proceed to flight tests and type certification with India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

This order places Hensoldt inside an eVTOL program at the prototype stage rather than after certification, a pattern in which avionics suppliers position themselves early in aircraft still working through ground tests. For urban air mobility platforms, navigation, situational awareness, and secure communications are treated as a single integrated package rather than components sourced separately, since dense urban operating environments demand systems that work together from the outset.
The next milestones are ePlane's flight-test campaign and its type certification process with the DGCA, both of which will determine whether the avionics suite performs as specified once the e200X moves beyond ground testing. Whether Hensoldt secures further orders as other Indian eVTOL developers reach similar stages is a separate question the current contract does not answer.
