aFuel Platform Processes Record 500,000 Digital Fuelling Transactions in First Half of 2026
Why It MattersDigital fuelling records are replacing paper dockets, calls and faxes at the airline and into-plane agent interface, and each new partner connection widens the network available to existing participants.
Information Design One AG, the Frankfurt-based aviation technology company that developed aFuel, said the platform processed a record 500,000 individual aircraft fuelling transactions in the first half of 2026, fully digitally, in real time and without paper records.

CEO Julia Büchner said each transaction meant an airline received a confirmed, timestamped digital fuelling record instead of a manual paper docket, with fuel quantities, delivery times and uplift confirmations shared instantly between airline and into-plane agent, without phone calls, faxes or reconciliation disputes. According to the company, faster digital communication significantly reduces fuel delays, digital records support tankering decisions without manual inputs, and invoices are matched automatically. The transactions also feed an analytical layer for airlines and fuel operators.
The company attributes the result to its partner ecosystem. aFuel connects airlines with into-plane agents and IT dispatch system providers across a growing global network, and each new partner connection extends the network available to existing participants. IT dispatch system providers enable the real-time data exchange at each station, into-plane agents provide operational and local expertise, and airlines, from global network carriers to regional low-cost carriers, drive demand for additional agents and providers to join.
Büchner said the company expects to exceed 1 million fuelling transactions by the end of 2026. Information Design One AG plans further station go-lives across Europe and beyond in the second half of 2026 and is in active discussions with new airline customers, IT dispatch system providers and into-plane agents.
