Gama Aviation Rolls Out New Bespoke FBO Uniform Across UK and Sharjah Locations

Why It MattersStandardising front-line presentation across dispersed FBO sites signals how ground-handling brands increasingly treat staff appearance and consistency as a measurable part of client experience.

What happened

Gama Aviation has rolled out a new bespoke uniform across its FBO network, with the collection currently worn by staff at its UK locations and at its Business Aviation Centre in Sharjah. A Glasgow collection is in production as the rollout continues.

The project was developed under the company's Red Thread Academy, a client-experience programme created and led by Evie Freeman, Gama Aviation's Group Director of Client Experience. The Academy is intended to establish a consistent thread of service across every client touchpoint, regardless of location, department or service line. The approach favoured a range of garments with different styles, fits and sizing options over a single prescribed look, giving staff choice while maintaining a shared professional standard, summarised in a new FBO Uniform Guide under the principle "A shared standard, worn with pride."

Freeman said the initiative was about how staff feel when representing the company, noting that confidence and pride among team members directly influences the client experience they deliver. Gama Aviation reported that colleague feedback on the uniform has been positive, with teams welcoming the fit, choice and comfort of the collection.

Industry impact & what to watch

This falls into a broader trend among ground-service providers of treating staff presentation and internal culture programmes as tools for client-experience consistency, not just cosmetic branding. FBO operators compete heavily on service quality since aircraft handling and facilities can look similar across sites, so anything that standardizes staff-facing touchpoints, uniforms, guides, training academies, becomes part of how a brand differentiates itself across multiple locations.

The bespoke-fit approach, offering choice within a shared standard, reflects how multi-site operators balance uniformity with staff buy-in, since a single mandated look can undercut the same morale benefits it aims to project. Whether this uniform programme extends beyond Glasgow to other Gama Aviation sites, and whether the company reports any measurable shift in client feedback tied to the Red Thread Academy, would indicate if the initiative is treated as a lasting operational standard or a one-off rollout.
