FAA Notice Signals Trump Visit to Mar-a-Lago Oct. 30–Nov. 1, Ahead of Annual Halloween Party
Why It MattersPresidential-level airspace restrictions over Palm Beach recur through the season, and each one limits when and where general aviation and business jet operators can fly in South Florida.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a notice to pilots that presidential-level flight restrictions are expected between Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, pointing to a return by President Donald Trump to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, as early as Friday, Oct. 30. The "VIP Movement Notification" did not name Trump, but such notices have become reliable indicators of when and where a president plans to travel, though they are subject to change at a moment's notice.

The trip would be Trump's third to Mar-a-Lago this season and his 30th since taking office in January 2025 for his second term. The club holds an annual Halloween gala for members the next day, marking the start of Palm Beach's social season. Trump most recently visited Palm Beach on Oct. 23–24, traveling from Fort Myers, where he held a midterm rally, and he left Palm Beach for a rally in Georgia before returning to Washington, D.C.
A Palm Beach visit would mean closure of South Ocean Boulevard, which the U.S. Secret Service typically shuts between Southern Boulevard and South County Road. Pilots who violate the VIP-level temporary flight restrictions could be penalized or intercepted by F-16 fighter jets.
