General Aviation Aircraft Market Projected to Reach $28.14 Billion in 2026, $38.5 Billion by 2030, Report Says
Why It MattersForecast growth rests on regional transport, medical aviation and specialized operations rather than a single segment, pointing to broad-based demand across the general aviation fleet.
The Business Research Company projects that the general aviation aircraft market will grow from $25.91 billion in 2025 to $28.14 billion in 2026, an 8.6% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The report forecasts the market will reach $38.5 billion by 2030 at a CAGR of 8.2%.

The report attributes past growth to rising demand for personal air travel, increased business aviation activity, greater adoption of flight training services, expanded use of aircraft in agriculture, and growing needs for aerial surveying. Growth through 2030 is expected to be driven by demand for flexible regional air transport, increasing emergency medical aviation services, higher demand for efficient general aviation aircraft, broader use in specialized operations, and the rise of recreational flying.
The report cites two examples. In November 2023, US-based alternative asset management firm Apollo Infrastructure Funds acquired a majority stake in Modern Aviation, Inc.; financial details were not disclosed. The investment is intended to support Modern Aviation's expansion of its fixed-base operator (FBO) network, airport infrastructure and acquisitions in the North American business aviation services sector. In June 2026, General Atomics AeroTec Systems GmbH of Germany introduced the Do228 NXT, an upgraded version of the Dornier 228 with new avionics and a revamped cabin and cockpit.
