Why It MattersMaintenance providers are building out dedicated cabin design capacity in-house, which signals continued demand for integrated interior refurbishment work alongside their core maintenance, paint and avionics services.
Duncan Aviation has expanded its aircraft design teams with new hires and internal promotions at its facilities in Lincoln, Nebraska; Battle Creek, Michigan; and Provo, Utah. Misty Brookson and Christine Bonk have joined the Lincoln team as Lead Designers, Lauren Hawkins and Lauren Burkhardt have been promoted to Associate Designers II in Battle Creek, and Amie Jensen has been promoted to Lead Designer in Provo.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Media Arts from Southern New Hampshire University in April 2026. Burkhardt joined in 2024 as a Design Assistant at the Lincoln facility after earning a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from Western Michigan University, and moved to the Battle Creek team as an Associate Designer II in July 2026.
Duncan Aviation's designers work within integrated refurbishment teams alongside sales representatives, project managers, engineers, technicians and production teams. They guide customers' decisions on seating, cabinetry, flooring, sidewalls, headliners, lighting, fixtures, fabrics, leathers and finishes, taking into account durability, weight, materials, certification requirements, cabin dimensions and maintainability. The company provides maintenance, engine overhauls, avionics retrofits, paint and interior refurbishment, and preowned aircraft sales, with full-service facilities in Battle Creek, Lincoln and Provo.
