Used Aircraft Market Projected to Reach $46.06 Billion by 2030, The Business Research Company Reports
Why It MattersPre-owned aircraft are becoming a structurally larger share of fleet supply as new-aircraft pricing, leasing and resale activity push operators toward used inventory.
The Business Research Company projects that the global used aircraft market will grow from $32.55 billion in 2025 to $35 billion in 2026, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.5%. It forecasts the market will reach $46.06 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 7.1%.

The report attributes recent growth to a preference for acquiring aircraft at lower cost, fleet replacement needs, cost-conscious operators choosing pre-owned aircraft, greater supply of certified used aircraft, and demand for quick fleet expansion. Forecast growth is expected to be driven by rising prices of new aircraft, expanding leasing and resale activity, interest in refurbished aircraft with updated systems, fleet modernization, and the use of used aircraft in specialized mission roles.
In January 2026, US-based pre-owned aircraft marketplace GlobalAir.com partnered with AERO Friedrichshafen, a Germany-based general and business aviation trade show, to create a dedicated pre-owned aircraft section featuring light jets, turboprops and single-engine piston aircraft. In September 2025, US private aviation advisory firm Aero Ventures LLC launched the Aero Ventures Marketplace, an AI-driven platform offering instant aircraft valuations, verified histories, off-market listings and cost simulation tools.
The report segments the market by aircraft type (commercial airliners, corporate jets, turboprops, helicopters, general aviation aircraft), age group (0 to 5 years up to more than 20 years), condition (excellent, good, fair, poor), mission type (passenger, cargo, special mission, training, other) and disposition method (direct sale, lease return, aircraft broker, online marketplace, trade-in).
