Signature Aviation Plans 10 FBO Projects, 12 Hangars and 17 Ramp Projects for 2027 Expansion
Why It MattersThe programme shows FBO network growth now leaning on hangar and ramp capacity built around larger business jets, with acquisitions and new construction advancing in parallel across regions.
What happened
Signature Aviation is preparing a larger expansion programme for 2027. The plan covers 10 new or substantially renovated FBOs, 12 hangars and 17 new or upgraded ramps across its global network.

The company has invested approximately $3.6 billion since 2021 in infrastructure, safety and technology. That spending has combined acquisitions with new developments and improvements to existing locations.
Recent growth includes the acquisition of the former Castle & Cooke Aviation FBO at Van Nuys Airport, which brings Signature's presence there to three locations. In Glasgow, the company opened a new terminal in March, and a new facility at Guanacaste Airport in Costa Rica is expected in early 2027.
At Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport, Signature is investing more than $10 million, including a 22,000-square-foot hangar designed to accommodate modern business jets.
Industry impact & what to watch
The mix of projects points to where FBO capital is going: not only terminals and lounges, but hangar space and ramp capacity sized for larger business aircraft. The Roanoke-Blacksburg hangar, built for modern business jets, is one example of aircraft dimensions shaping what gets built.
The Van Nuys deal shows the other route to growth. Buying an existing FBO adds a third Signature location at that airport without waiting for new construction, while greenfield and renovation work proceeds in places like Glasgow and Guanacaste. For a network operator, acquisition and development run side by side, and each serves different timelines.
The next concrete milestone is the Guanacaste facility in early 2027, which will show how the international side of the programme is progressing.
