Why It MattersAdding a component maker with plants across Europe, North America and North Africa signals that Boeing is deepening its French supplier base, though the move adds no new order or contract.

Boeing France announced on Oct. 16 in Paris that Hutchinson has joined the Boeing French Team, a network of 18 strategic French industrial partners that Boeing describes as the spearhead of its cooperation with France. The network was created in 2005.

Hutchinson is a French group present in 26 countries and has supported Boeing aircraft programs across three continents for many years. Through its international industrial footprint, Hutchinson and its subsidiaries supply components for Boeing commercial aircraft programs, including insulation blankets, ducts for air-conditioning systems, isolators for auxiliary power units, vibration-damping mounting supports, seals and tubing. Its industrial network in Europe, North America and North Africa provides complementary expertise and production capacity.

Jean-Marc Fron, Managing Director of Boeing France, said France remains a strategic country for Boeing's global supply chain and that Hutchinson's arrival strengthens the French company ecosystem supporting Boeing's commercial and defense programs. Nicolas Orance, Senior Executive VP Aeronautics, Defense & Industry at Hutchinson, said the group wants to build on its strengths to explore new opportunities for collaboration with Boeing.

Boeing works with more than 100 French suppliers and invested $1.1 billion in the French aerospace sector in 2025, according to the company. The announcement concerns network membership; it does not disclose a new aircraft order, a contract value, a revised production target or a binding new supply agreement.
